Week 7 - Brainwashing

In a nation with millions dying and an infrastructure in utter shambles, how can its citizens still believe they live in the best place on earth? This is the grip Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il have had over the minds of North Koreans. A unified education system and government-controlled media serve as a non-stop propaganda machine. Those who dare speak out against the government are arrested and taken away. People live in continual fear of being reported.

The indoctrination begins at birth regarding the cult personalities of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. There is no such thing God. In fact, all religions are banned. People view the U.S. as North Korea's main enemy and think everyone in South Korea is a beggar. What people are taught about how reunification will occur on the Korean peninsula is unnerving as well.
